About Suntech Vivaan Herbicides
- VIVAAN Herbicide is a Suntech Agriscience product.
- It contains Penoxsulam 1.02% + Cyhalofop-Butyl 5.1% OD.
- It is an advanced, selective, broad-spectrum post-emergence herbicide formulated in an innovative Oil Dispersion (OD) system, delivering complete one-shot control against major grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in paddy fields.
- VIVAAN Herbicide is used against Echinochloa crus-galli (barnyard grass), Echinochloa colona (jungle rice), Leptochloa chinensis (Chinese sprangletop), Eleusine indica, Cyperus difformis, Cyperus iria, Fimbristylis miliacea, Caesulia axillaris, Ludwigia octovalvis, and Alternanthera sessilis.
- It is recommended for transplanted paddy (rice) as well as direct-seeded rice (DSR / wet-sown and dry-sown).
Technical Content of Suntech Vivaan Herbicides
- Penoxsulam 1.02% + Cyhalofop-Butyl 5.1% OD
Mode of Action
- Mode of Entry: Absorbed rapidly through the leaves, stems, and active growing shoots of weeds with fast systemic translocation via both xylem and phloem directly to active meristematic zones.
- Mode of Action: Features a dual-action synergistic pathway:Penoxsulam: Triazolopyrimidine chemistry acting as an Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) inhibitor (HRAC Group 2), blocking the synthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine) to arrest broadleaf weeds and sedges.
- Cyhalofop-Butyl: Aryloxyphenoxypropionate ("FOP") chemistry acting as an Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitor (HRAC Group 1), halting lipid biosynthesis and cell membrane production specifically in grassy weeds.

Dosage per Acre
- Per Litre of Water: 4.5 ml – 5.5 ml (approx. 70 ml – 90 ml per 15-litre spray pump)
- Per Acre (Foliar Post-Emergence Spray): 800 ml – 900 ml in 150–200 litres of water using a flat-fan or floodjet nozzle.
- Application Window & Water Management: Apply at the 3 to 5-leaf stage of weeds (typically 10–20 days after transplanting or sowing). Drain excess standing water before spraying so weed leaves are fully exposed, then re-flood the field within 48 hours and hold shallow moisture for 5–7 days.
Key Features & Benefits
- Complete 3-in-1 Weed Spectrum: Controls grasses (especially tough Echinochloa and Leptochloa), sedges, and broadleaf weeds simultaneously in a single application.
- Advanced Oil Dispersion (OD) Technology & Safety: Enhanced oil carrier promotes rapid droplet spreading, deep foliar penetration, and high rainfastness, while offering selectivity with zero phytotoxicity to the rice crop.
